Presented by Joanne Vaars, Ed.D.
What role does Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) play in your Multi-Tiered System of Supports? SEL must be an explicitly taught throughline of the school's climate designed for Administrators, Staff, Students, and Families. As returning to campus has demonstrated, we must address Social-Emotional Needs using pro-active integration to support an effective educational community. Integrating the work of Christopher Emdin and the work of the National Equity Project, the presenter discusses the ideas of individual potential and agnosia (the inability to recognize objects, ideas or familiar human characteristics through the senses). The presenter will define and describe agnosia and how it impacts the individual academic success of students (the rainbows) in the educational system.
